Archivist Morgan R. DavisMorgan R. Davis, CA

Morgan is Senior Archivist for the Dole Institute. She holds a BA from University of North Texas and a Master’s degree in Library Science from Texas Woman’s University. She was awarded certification by the Academy of Certified Archivists in 2006.

Prior to arriving at the Dole Institute in 2008, Morgan served as Archivist for the Missouri Historical Society where she managed the Richard A. Gephardt Congressional Papers project.

Morgan serves as newsletter co-editor for the Congressional Papers Roundtable of the Society of American Archivists, is a Nominating Committee member for the Academy of Certified Archivists, is a Society of American Archivists Award Committee member and represents the Dole Institute at the annual Association of Centers for the Study of Congress meeting. Morgan is the former Secretary of the Association of St. Louis Area Archivists.

Archivist Judy Sweets

Judy Sweets

Judy is Media and Exhibits Archivist. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Florida State University and a Master's degree in Historical Administration and Museum Studies from the University of Kansas. Prior to her arrival at the Dole Institute in 2004 she worked for sixteen years at Watkins Community Museum of History in Lawrence, KS where she held positions as Collection Manager, Registrar/Exhibit Coordinator and Archivist.

During her museum career Sweets curated more than twenty-five exhibits. She is the author of Douglas County, Kansas and World War II: The Homefront and Beyond as well as several historical articles.

Sweets is a member of the Kansas City Area Archivists and the Society of Southwest Archivists. She is currently Vice-President of the Underground Railroad Association of Douglas County and is a member of the Lawrence Preservation Alliance.

Cat RiggsCatherine Riggs

Catherine Riggs is Assistant Processing Archivist for the Dole Institute. She holds a BA from the University of Mississippi and an MA from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The Dole Papers are her third Congressional collection. She has previously worked with the collections of Senator James O. Eastland (MS) and Representative Richard A. Gephardt (MO).

Riggs is a member of the Kansas City Area Archivists for which she serves on the Education Committee.

 

Robert Lay pictureRobert Lay

 

Robert Lay is Assistant Processing Archivist for the Dole Institute. He holds a BA and MA in history from Louisiana Tech University, where he focused on Cold War history and U.S. foreign relations.

Before joining the Dole Institute, Robert was previously an archivist at the Louisiana State University, where he processed the Congressional papers of U.S. Senator John B. Breaux. He has also served as an archivist at the Louisiana Tech University Department of Special Collections, Manuscripts, and Archives.

Robert is a member of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honors Society, Inc. and the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations.
