On Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2009, the community joined T. Boone Pickens at the Institute for a discussion about a nationwide sustainable energy plan, The Pickens Plan. Introductions were made by former Senator Bob Dole and by Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) at the meeting.

With the war in Iraq entering its sixth year and President Obama promising to end combat operations in Iraq by 2010 many questions remain unanswered. This two-part teleconference posed some of these questions. PART I of the program featured regional college students here and students in Iraq (see program handout for names). In PART II, Dole Institute Director Bill Lacy interviewed U.S. and Iraqi decisionmakers in Baghdad.
